At the helm of the Moana is Captain Brad, alongside his skilled first mate Nick. Together, they bring over 30 years of combined experience fishing these waters, ensuring that your time on board is both successful and unforgettable. Whether you're chasing tuna, mahi, wahoo, or the mighty billfish, Captain Brad and his crew are committed to making your day on the water an adventure to remember.

The Captain

Captain Brad

Captain Brad has been a key player on tournament-winning teams, including the prestigious local Pirates Cove Billfish Tournament. In 2022, he also guided a team of all-female anglers to a top 3 finish in a tuna tournament. After one of his victories in a billfish tournament, and a heartfelt conversation with his mother just two weeks before she passed away from a brief battle with cancer, Brad made the life-changing decision to pursue his dream of becoming a full-time charter boat captain—a dream he was determined to chase and "catch!"

The Boat

Moana

The Moana is a 55-foot sport fishing yacht built by Buddy Cannady in 1992. When fishing with the Moana, you'll have the opportunity to fish with the finest tackle available, from light 20lb—standup gear to heavier 130lb class rods and reels. When the big fish are on, we have three fighting chairs ready for the fight. The Moana is equipped with a TV and VCR, Sirius XM radio, Starlink, Refrigerator, and a Microwave. While running the Moana, Captain Brad Ward has all the latest electronics at his disposal. The boat is equipped with a VHF Radio, Single side Band, Radar, Color Depth Finder, and Plotter.
